PRESS RELEASE
Old rivalries resurface when advertising executive Rupert seeks refuge at his estranged colleague’s French vineyard.
But why Rupert’s sudden flight from Britain?
And what secrets lie buried beneath the vines?
Engaging and compelling from start to finish, Bottle combines wit and humanity with edge-of-the seat drama weaving together themes of friendship and betrayal, loyalty and libido, passion, obsession, success and sacrifice as two men face the terminal realities of class, the rat race and the mid-life crisis.
Reviews for Richard Dyball’s work include: “high class character comedy” (The Observer); “as perfect a night out as your pennies will buy” (Theatre Guide, London); “intelligent and finely crafted” (Brighton Argus)

Performance History
After hearing a reading in The Lewes Arms in May 2007, Carte Blanche Productions approached Richard Dyball, and were delighted to mount the first stage performances of the play in February and March 2008 with a view to assessing its potential.
Richard Dyball himself played Nigel, with Martin Ball as Rupert. The production was directed by James Albrecht.
The first performance was in the eccentrically intimate Tin Tabernacle, a shack in Barcombe, East Sussex. This was followed by four nights at London’s Tristan Bates Theatre and one at Komedia, Brighton.
Reaction to the production was such that a further production is currently being planned, and Carte Blanche is working with Arden Entertainment to identify cast and venues.
